What is TerraCycle?
TerraCycle is a recycling company that specializes in recycling typically hard-to-recycle waste which is not processed by local councils, like cosmetic product packaging (find out more here).
TerraCycle strives to eliminate the idea of waste by offering a range of free national recycling programs that are funded by brands. TerraCycle reuses, upcycles and recycles the waste instead of incinerating or landfilling it.
Are ShiKai products recyclable?
Technically yes, but local recyclers sometimes don’t have the ability to recycle all of our packaging. Things like pumps and tubes are not always taken by recycling facilities, which is why ShiKai is partnering with TerraCycle to ensure none of our packaging ends up in a landfill or the ocean.
How to recycle ShiKai products?
Once you finish your products (please make sure they’re completely empty), print a FREE prepaid shipping label off our TerraCycle page. Attach the label to any parcel you have around and ship back your empty packaging.
TerraCycle receives the packaging and holds onto it to for us. Once we collect a significant amount, it’s 100% recycled and given a new purpose.
What can I recycle?
All ShiKai packaging that cannot be recycled locally is accepted through our TerraCycle program. These components include: plastic tubes, pumps, jars, and complex closures.
